Some Kashmiri political leaders have criticized the Indian Government for calling off talks between the foreign secretaries of India and Pakistan. I totally disagree with these Kashmiri leaders.
I have explained in several articles of mine that Pakistan is no country at all. It is a fake, artificial entity created by the British on the basis of the bogus two nation theory, that Hindus and Muslims are two separate nations, the whole game being to keep Hindus and Muslims fighting with each other so that India may not emerge as a powerful modern industrial state, like China, for which it now has all the potential. See my blog justicekatju.blogspot.in, my posts on my facebook page, and my article 'The Truth about Pakistan', which is also available online.
So with whom should we talk ? With a fake entity ? And what will such talks achieve ? If there is genuine friendship between India and Pakistan, the very reason for the existence of Pakistan will disappear, since Pakistan was created for the purpose that there should not be good relations but hostility, and the sale of arms by foreign countries to us at heavy prices should continue, money which we should be spending on the welfare of our own people.
Pakistan is really part of India. What is Pakistan? It is Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan and NWFP. These were all part of India at the time of Emperors Ashoka and Akbar, and even in British times.
Those who accept Pakistan must logically accept the two nation theory, on the basis of which Pakistan was created. But this theory on the face of it is bogus. Religion can never be the basis of a nation. If religion is the basis of a nation then perhaps no nation could survive. Britain, which divided us, should logically be partitioned into about 10 separate 'nations', for Anglican Protestants, Presbyterians, Roman Catholics Jews, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, etc. So also U.S.A. Russia, France , Germany etc would all have to be partitioned providing for separate 'nations' for each of the religions living there. All this is, on the face of it, nonsense.
Moreover, in our sub-continent there is so much diversity that only a secular nation can survive. And the proof of this is what is happening in Pakistan today, with daily killings of Shias, Ahmadis, independent minded journalists etc by religious extremists and bigots, and terrible persecution of Hindus, Christians and other minorities. Pakistan has become a veritable Jurassic Park, which is the inevitable consequence of creating an Islamic State, particularly in a sub continent of such diversity.
When I meet Pakistanis I feel no different from them. We look like each other, speak the same language ( Hindustani), have the same culture e.g. love for Urdu poetry and classical Indian music, the same dress and food habits, etc In fact in foreign countries Indians and Pakistanis mix socially as if no Partition had ever taken place .
Some people say that since 1947 67 years have expired, and what has been done cannot be undone. I cannot accept this reasoning, for it means we should keep fighting each other ( because Pakistan was created so that there may be no peace in this sub continent).
China has not recognized Taiwan as a separate nation, although over 60 years have expired since the creation of Taiwan. So why should we hold talks with a fictitious entity ?
As a Kashmiri myself, and one who genuinely wishes for the betterment of the Kashmiri people, whether Muslim or Hindu, I want to tell Kashmiris, and the Kashmiri youth in particular, that they should stop supporting the separatist leaders and stop the stupid demand for separation from India, and instead demand reunification of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh under a strong secular, modern minded, government which does not tolerate religious extremism of any kind, and which rapidly industrializes the country and raises the standard of living of our poor people. Any other approach will have disastrous consequences for Kashmir, as it is already having. You are being misguided by your leaders, who have their own agenda and vested interests.
