Trial of King Louis 16th

After the trial of King Louis 16th by the French National Convention, and the finding of his guilt, the voting on his punishment began on the 16th January, 1793, and went on till the morning of the 17th.
During this 24 hour continuous voting, in which some members gave their speeches also, one member of he Convention fell asleep.
When an official came at midnight and woke him up to ask his verdict, the member, having been startled to have been aroused from his deep slumber, shook his body, raised himself partly while still half asleep, and said " Death ", and then again went off to sleep.
What was there to think about of a tyrant ?
( See Victor Hugo;s novel ' Ninety Three ' )
