Abolish ban on cow slaughter and beef eating

I have repeatedly said that there is nothing wrong in eating beef. Almost the whole world eats it---America, Europe, Africa, Arab countries, China, Japan, Australia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand letc. In many of our own states beef is eaten, e.g. Kerala, Goa, North Eastern states, and West Bengal.

So are these beef eaters all wicked people, and we alone are sadhu sants ?

And how can a cow be gomata ? Can an animal be a mother of a human being ? Does it carry any sense ? A cow is just another animal, like a horse or goat.

Some people say that it is a matter of sentiments for Hindus.

But similarly, some Muslims say that Sharia and burqa are matters of sentiments for Muslims.

 In my opinion, these are all sentiments based on stupidity, and we should not bother about , or pamper sentiments based on stupidity.

 I call for repeal of laws banning cow slaughter and eating beef., just as I call for enactment a Uniform Civil Code and abolition of burqa.

Beef ban in J&K

I am totally against ban on beef, for the following reasons :

1. It is entirely my business what I eat, and no one else's. I am not compelling others to eat beef, so why should they prevent me ? I have eaten beef on some occasions, and may again eat it if the occasion arises ( though ordinarily I do not eat it out of respect for my wife and other relatives who are conservative ).. 

2. I see nothing wrong in eating beef. A cow is only an animal, like a horse. To call it holy and our mother is silly. How can an animal be a mother of a human being ? To those who say that a cow is a mother because she gives us milk like a mother I ask : are goats, buffaloes, yaks, camels etc also your mothers ? Many people drink their milk too

3. Most people of the world eat beef---Americans, Europeans, Africans, Chinese, Arabs, Australians, Japanese etc. Are they all sinners and we Hindus alone saints ?

4. Beef is a source of cheap protein for people in Goa, Kerala and many North Eastern states of India, many of whose people are are Christians, e.g. Nagaland, Mizoram, etc Beef is openly sold there. If an all India ban is made, as proposed by some political leaders,many of these states will surely secede from India. Would that be desirable ?

So I am totally against the ban order imposed by some archaic law sought to be enforced by the J&K High Court

There is nothing wrong in eating beef. 90% of the world eats it---Americans, Europeans, Arabs, Africans, Australians, Japanese, etc Are they all wicked people, and we Hindus alone are saintly ? And how can an animal be the mother of a human being ? Does it carry any sense ? And I do not regard cow as 'sarvoch' amongst animals. There is no 'sarvoch'.

 I am not asking anyone to eat beef. Whether you eat it or not is your choice. All I am saying is that there is nothing wrong in eating it. Nagas, Mizos, others from North Eastern states, Goans, Keralites, etc eat it. Are they Indians or not ? Just try to ban it there. Many of them do not follow your shastras as they are Christians and Muslims. Is India a Hindu country or a secular country ?

  Hindus who regard cows as holy turn them out of their houses once they are past milk yielding stage, and leave them to fend for themselves. Most of these starve to death. Is this not cow slaughter, and of a more horrible kind ? Is this not hypocrisy ? I have seen cows eating filth and garbage on the roads. Many eat polythene bags, which lead to a horribly painful death. But no one is bothered about that.

Let Amit Shah say openly in a public meeting in Nagaland or Mizoram that beef should be banned, and see what happens. If he is a brave man let him try this experiment, instead of giving me threats.
