Form Jansamitis in all cities in India

The massive water logging and the Dengue and Chikungunya deaths has made it clear that neither the Centre nor the State government will do anything for the people of Delhi, except indulge in blame-game, and these calamities will keep occurring in the future also frequently.

Hence, the time has now come in this country for Jansamitis (people's committees) to be formed in all cities in India. People must now solve their own problems instead of depending on the government totally.

First a Jansamiti should be formed in Delhi by the people of Delhi themselves. The method for doing so can be that every Mohalla in Delhi will elect a mohalla Jansamiti democratically which will have a term of six months only, after which a fresh election will be held, so that those who do not perform will not be re-elected.

This mohalla committee should nominate two of its members to the Delhi Jansamiti, which will also have a term of six months only.

Presently most MPs and MLAs are elected for five years, but after getting elected, they forget about the problems of their constituencies and get busy in making money. So the term should be much shorter for the Jansamiti.

The Jansamitis or Mohalla Sabha should advise the ministers and officials of the Government to do what is needed to solve the people's problems. If the ministers or officials do not respond, the members of the Jansamitis and Mohalla Samitis should tell the people to hold peaceful demonstrations at the offices and residences of the ministers, MLAs and officials, and publicise it in the media.

This will exercise immediate pressure on the ministers, MLAs and the officers.

After Delhi, Jansamitis should be formed in all cities in In India.

If the government and its officers do not respond, the people should also stop paying taxes. It is believed the Delhi Govt. collects Rs. 90,000 crores annually from the people of Delhi. What does it do with this money?

Details about the manner of election and functioning of these samitties should be worked out by the people themselves using their creativity.

Mr. Kejriwal the time has come to perform or resign

In response to my previous post, Raghav Chadha, the spokesperson of AAP has tweeted: "Sir, Arvind Kejriwal doesn't have the powers to dismiss Najeeb Jung". This was retweeted by Arvind Kejriwal.

I cannot make head or tail out of what Raghav Chadha has tweeted, or what he meant. I had never said that Arvind Kejriwal should dismiss, or has power to dismiss Najeeb Jung.

In my previous post I had said that the minister responsible for the water logging in Delhi along with the senior officials concerned should be dismissed immediately by Arvind Kejriwal.

Obviously, this meant that Arvind Kejriwal should recommend to the Lt Governor to dismiss the minister and officers concerned. Surely Arvind Kejriwal as the Chief Minister can make this recommendation to the Lt. Governor, whether the Lt. Governor accepts it or not.

The AAP government of Delhi cannot keep evading its responsibility in providing civic amenities to the people of Delhi. The recent massive water logging in Delhi causing traffic jams and other problems has resulted in immense hardship to the people of Delhi. Even the US Secretary of State, John Kerry was stranded.

Why did the AAP government not get the drains of Delhi cleared so that the rain water may go out and not cause water logging? Did they not know that this is the rainy season, and rains comes every year, and unless there is a proper drainage system there is bound to be water logging?

The Delhi government has also to be held responsible for not controlling diseases like Dengue, Chikungunya, etc which have claimed several lives and is spreading in Delhi.

Arvind Kejriwal and his associates must stop this habit of blaming the Lt. Governor for everything. If he is of the view that the Chief Minister is nothing and the Lt. Governor is everything, then Kejriwal should, if he is honest, resign from his post along with his cabinet. Why is he then drawing the salary of Chief Minister and why are his Ministers and MLAs drawing their salaries if they are nothing ? Why are they occupying official houses and using cars if they are nothing ?.

Although, I had praised some good things the AAP government had earlier done in Delhi like Mohalla Clinics, lowering electricity and water prices etc., but now my opinion like that of many others, has changed and I think Kejriwal is just avoiding taking any responsibility for his failures by resorting to the blame game of blaming the Lt. Governor for everything.

Mr. Kejriwal, it is now time to tell you frankly. The people of Delhi want performance from you, as you had promised during the Delhi Assembly elections, and not non-performance by giving excuses. Either perform or resign and get out.

My Kashmir has gone with the wind

Though I have not lived in Kashmir ( my wife did, and speaks fluent Kashmiri ) since my ancestors migrated from Kashmir about 200 years ago, I am proud to call myself a Kashmiri, and I regard Kashmiri Muslims as my blood brothers and sisters. Our DNA is the same. Whenever Kashmiri Muslims meet me, they feel they are meeting one of their own. When Kashmiri law students used to come from Kashmir to Delhi they would often come to my Courtroom in the Supreme Court as they felt one of their own is a Supreme Court Judge, and I used to invite them to my residence and interact with them. So I have no enmity with Kashmiris, as that would be enmity with myself.

What I have to say with regret, however, is that my Kashmir, which was Sufi Kashmir, has been radicalised and converted into Wahabi Kashmir, and I hate Wahabis, just as I hate all intolerant religious fundamentalists, including Hindu fundamentalists like Adityanath, Pravin Togadia, Sadhvi Prachi, etc.

These Kashmiri Rishis taught tolerance, brotherhood and compassion, like all Sufis.

In my Kashmir Muslims and Pandits used to live in harmony like brothers and sisters, as my wife and her relatives and others tell me. 

But all that has changed. After the Pandits were killed, terrorised, and hounded out of the valley from 1989 onwards ( and many Kashmiris who were not even born at that time have been brainwashed into saying that Jagmohan did it, which is false ), my Kashmir has gone with the wind.

The Kashmir of today is no longer Sufi Kashmir but has become Wahabi Kashmir. The Chairman of the Hurriyat Conference, that feudal buffoon, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, is a hardcore Islamic fundamentalist, and so are most of his associates. 

Many Kashmiri Muslims now express their love for the Pandits, and shed crocodile tears about their departure from the valley, but where were Geelani and his ilk in 1989 ? Did they ever raise their voices against the atrocities on Pandits then ? No, a lock was placed on their lips at that time, when loudspeakers blared from mosques telling Pandt males to convert or get out of the valley, but leave their women behind, when notices were pasted on the houses of Pandits to the same effect, and when Pandits were selectively massacred in many places, often being identified to the killers by their Muslim neighbours. Now of course they are in a denial mode.

The present azadi agitation in Kashmir is being led by such Islamic fanatics and bigots, while the rest of the Kashmiri population is like mindless pawns being used by their chess masters, and the international forces behind them.

That is why I am so sad. My Kashmir has gone with the wind

I had said several times that India, Pakistan and Bangladesh must reunite, as the Partition of 1947 was a historical swindle and a colossal fraud by the British on the basis of the bogus two nation theory and the wicked divide and rule policy.

Many people called my idea of reunification only a dream, just as many people called Mazzini's vision of a united Italy a dream, or Bismarck's vision of a united Germany a dream. And I too often wondered, while never doubting the correctness of my belief in reunification, how and when it could be practically achieved ?

Now Kashmiris by demanding Azadi, and the Pakistani Govt. by supporting that demand, have solved my problem.

India must first break up and dismember that fake, artificial entity ( I refuse to call it a country ) called Pakistan, by sending arms and other supplies on a large scale to Sind, Balochistan and NWFP, whose people are sick and fed up of Punjabi domination, and rightly and legitimately want azadi.

Thereafter India should persuade these independent countries i.e. Sind, Balochistan and NWFP to voluntarily join India, in initially a confederation, and later, if they so wish, a union, under a secular govt. which while guaranteeing freedom of religion to all does not tolerate religious extremism and bigotry. This govt. of reunited India must then rapidly industrialize the country and ensure a decent life with employment, healthcare, nutritious food, good education, housing, etc to all its citizens.

So thank you Kashmiris and Pakistanis. You have solved my problem, and have shown the practical path to reunification

Blood and Iron

In a speech delivered in the Prussian Landtag ( Parliament ) in 1862, the great future Chancellor of Germany, Bismarck, said " the great issues of the day will not be decided by votes and speeches but by blood and iron ( blut und essen ) ". He said this when the Landtag members were opposing his request to increase the grants to the military which he needed for unification of Germany.

A similar thing can be said about current developments in India, which beg...inning from Kashmir are likely to spread to,other parts of the country too.

For most of the period after Independence in 1947 politics in India was largely governed by votes and speeches ( though there were some sporadic violent incidents too ). The 'giants' in our national scene were people who could give attractive and seductive speeches about how they would serve the people if elected, but behind the scene indulged in their field of expertise of manipulating caste and communal vote banks, and looting the nation. But now after almost 70 years something fundamental has changed in India, these ' giants' have been exposed as paper tigers, and it has started from Kashmir. The era of ' blood and iron ' has arrived in India, and is going to rapidly replace the era of ' votes and speeches '.

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, ex Chief Minister Omar Abdulla, PDP member Mehboob Beg, separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, J&K Congress Chief G.M. Mir, National Conference spokesman Nasir Aslam Wani, and even the Prime Minister have all been making fatuous appeals for peace, which have all fallen on deaf ears in Kashmir.. Mehbooba Mufti, like a rat cornered by prowling ravenous tomcats, made a pitiful appeal ' for one last chance ', but who listens to her ?.

All these people do not understand the forces at work in Kashmir, and therefore, like King Canute, are trying to push back the oceanic waves. But like an actor who refuses to leave the stage although his role is over, they will soon be pushed out by forces beyond their control.

I am reminded of Napoleon, who was very powerful at one time ( he used to confer crowns on his favourites like a Roman Emperor distributing coins to the populace ), but on reaching Moscow in September 1812 realized that most of his power had gone ( see Tolstoy's ' War and Peace ' ), and he ultimately ended up in St. Helena.

As Shakespeare said in ' King Lear ' : " As flies to wanton boys are we to the gods. They kill us for sport ".

And as Omar Khayyam said in his Rubaiyats :

" They say the lions and the lizards keep the Court where Jamshed gloried and drank deep

And Behram that mighty hunter, the wild ass stamps over his head, but cannot break his sleep "

Now that the era of blood and iron is dawning in India, beginning from Kashmir, we will witness a rapid, qualitative, change in our politics. All our great netas will be thrown into the dustbin

Derecognize that fake country Pakistan : My appeal to the Indian Govt

It is reported today in the media that the Pakistan Prime Minister has appointed 22 members of the Pakistan Parliament to go around the world as special envoys to highlight the Kashmir issue, and he himself will address the U.N. General Assembly about it in September. Thus, it is evident that the Pakistan Govt. is hell bent on escalating the issue

What should our response be ?

I submit that the Indian Govt. should now derecognize that fake, artificial entity ( I refuse to call it a country ) called Pakistan.

Pakistan is not a country at all. What is Pakistan ? It is Punjab, Sind, Balochistan and NWFP. These were all part of India since Mughal times. When I meet Pakistanis I feel no different from them. We look like each other, speak the same language Hindustani ( called Hindi in India and Urdu in Pakistan ), share the same culture, etc. We were befooled by the Britishers into thinking we are enemies of each other, but how much longer must we remain befooled ?.How much longer must blood flow between Hindus and Muslims ?

The idea of reunified India is an idea whose time has come. Pakistan is a fake, artificial entity, and the Partition of 1947 on the basis of the bogus two nation theory was a colossal fraud and a historical swindle, creating enormous problems for the sub continent, under which we are still reeling. We have been fighting each other since 1947, and wasting enormous resources on these fights and tensions, and purchasing billions of dollars of foreign arms, instead of utilizing our resources in uplifting our people from poverty.

I have repeatedly said that 99% Pakistanis are good people, just as 99% Indians are good people. 99% Hindus are good people, and 99% Muslims are good people. We should make a distinction between the Pakistani Govt. and the Pakistani people. It is the Pakistani Govt. not the Pakistani people who are hell bent on creating trouble The Pakistani people are really Indians, they are our brothers and sisters, and like us want to live peaceful lives.

We are really one people, but the British befooled us by their wicked divide and rule policy and bogus two nation theory, which was systematically propagated since 1857 through their agents, into believing that Hindus and Muslims are enemies. But how much longer must we remain befooled ? How much longer must blood flow in our sub continent ?
The time has come to undo the historical fraud and swindle of Partition, and reunite under a secular modern minded government, which rapidly industrializes the country and raises the standard of living of our people. This govt. while guaranteeing freedom of religion to all, must crush religious extremism and bigotry with an iron hand.

Some people say that the idea of reunification is a pipe dream, as Partition took place in 1947, and since then much water has flown. But Germany was reunited in 1990 after its partition in 1945. So time is immaterial when we are really one nation. When Mazzini spoke of Italian unification most people said it was a pipe dream, but this dream became a reality under Cavour and Garibaldi. Bismarck united Germany in 1871.
Others say that there is too much hatred between the people of the two countries to reunite. But this hatred is artificial, and created by false propaganda. Merely because we are of different religions does not mean we are enemies. We share the same culture, and have the same massive problems of poverty, unemployment, malnutrition, lack of healthcare. We should reunite to jointly fight to give our people decent lives, instead of fighting each other.

Since the Pakistan Govt. has decided to up the ante over the issue of Kashmir, let us also pay them back in their own coin by denying the very existence of Pakistan ( and rightly so ) as a genuine country. 

The first step in this direction must be to derecognize Pakistan recall our envoys, and tell theirs to get the hell out of India.

A.S. Dulat is talking humbug

In the website thewire.in an interview with former RAW chief A.S. Dulat has been published about how to solve the Kashmir imbroglio. Mr. Dulat says that the only answer to the Kashmir problem is dialogue, not aggression.

such azadi will be against the interest of Kashmiris, as it will result in Islamic fundametalism being imposed in Kashmir, which will throw back Kashmir into the dark Middle Ages. The demand is hence totally reactionary. Morever, azadi, even if achieved, will not last long. Kashmir will soon thereafter be swallowed up by Pakistan, and come under the Pakistani military jackboot.

This reunited state must then rapidly industrialize the country and ensure a high standard of living and decent life to all.

Mr. Dulat makes the following points in his interview :

1. The Indian Govt. should engage in talks. But talks with whom ? Mr. Dulat says we should begin with Hurriyat. But the Hurriyat is a separatist organization which wants Kashmir separated from India, as its leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani has repeatedly said. What is the point talking with them ? As for talks with Pakistan, they will keep harping on azadi for Kashmir. Moreover, Pakistan is a fake, artificial entity ( I refuse to call it a country ) created by the British on the basis of the bogus two nation theory to ensure enmity between Hindus and Muslims even after their departure. So what is the point talking with them ?

2. Mr. Dulat says we should follow 'Vajpayee's way', and that the BJP-PDP alliance has angered the Kashmiris.

Again, a meaningless platitude. He says that Vajpayee is revered in the valley. I did not hear a single Kashmiri of today saying we want to follow 'Vajpayee's way' ( whatever the expression may mean ). And to blame the BJP-PDP alliance for the mess in Kashmir is overlooking the underlying realities. There is a strong foreign power, China, acting through its new surrogate, Pakistan, which is obviously covertly behind the Kashmir agitation for azadi.

It is true that a large section of Kashmiris have joined the agitation, but I submit they are being used by China and Pakistan, like mindless pawns used by the unseen chess player.

If Kashmir becomes azad, do the Kashmiris think they will really be free ? No, the power which has supplied sophisticated weapons, etc to the Kashmiri militants will then demand its pound of flesh, and make Kashmir its neo-colony, and exploit it for its own benefit, not the benefit of Kashmiris.

3. Mr. Dulat talks of 'insaniyat, jamuriyat and Kashmiriyat'. All these are meaningless moral platitudes, conveying nothing, and overlooking the underlying realities, as explained above.

4. Mr. Dulat talks favourably of the 'Musharraf four point formula' which, according to him, was acceptable to all the Kashmiris, including the separatists. It was peace on the line of control, with going and coming and open borders and more interaction between the two Kashmirs, trade, armies pulled back.

So according to Mr. Dulat, we should open the border with POK, and let more militants walk in. The army should be pulled back so that the militants may have a field day, bringing the entire valley under its grip, imposing Islamic fundamentalism and sharia law, which will drag Kashmir back into the dark middle ages. Obviously neither Mr. Dulat nor the Kashmiri agitators for 'azadi' understand this.

Azadi can only be a means to an end, and not an end itself. The end must be raising the standard of living of the people. I have repeatedly said that if it can be demonstrated that azadi will raise the standard of living of the people of Kashmir, i.e. provide large scale employment to the unemployed Kashmiri youth, provide healthcare to Kashmiris, abolish poverty, etc. I will support it. But neither Geelani nor Burhan Wani nor any of their cohorts and associates ever spoke or even thought of that. 

The azadi champions are Islamic fundamentalists who will drag Kashmir back into the middle ages.

I submit that Mr. Dulat's analysis is totally superficial, and entirely overlooks the realities of the situation in Kashmir

We must reunite

Some people agree on principle with my idea of reunified secular India , which includes India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, but ask how it is to be achieved in practice ? So I will reply

You have to be very patient, and coolly explain to people in India and Pakistan ( and Bangladesh ) why we must reunify. You may face tremendous hostility in the beginning ( as I have faced ).

Solving the Kashmir problem

Omar Abdullah said recently that to solve the Kashmir problem a political dialogue is necessary.

But dialogue with whom ? Pakistan and the separatists want azadi for Kashmir, so what is the point of having a dialogue with them The Kashmir imbroglio continues, stoked up by Pakistan.

I submit that the Kashmir problem can never be solved until India and Pakistan ( and Bangladesh ) reunite under a secular government.

There are some people who talk of improving relations between India and Pakistan. I submit that these people are living in a fools' paradise.

There can never be good relations between India and Pakistan, because Pakistan was created to ensure that there are hostllities and tension between the two, for two reasons (1) India does not emerge as a modern industrial giant, and thus become a rival to Western industries (2) India and Pakistan remain big importers of foreign arms, thus ensuring sales of arms industries of Western countries, and thus spending huge amounts on purchase of these weapons, money which could be spent on the welfare of our own people. http://www.catchnews.com/…/arms-race-india-s-expenditure-on…

What is Pakistan ? It is Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan, and NWFP, which were all part of India since Mughal times.
When I meet Pakistanis I feel no different from them. We speak the same language, Hindustani ( called Hindi by us and Urdu by them), we look like each other, share a common culture, e.g. love for Urdu poetry and classical Indian music, the same dress and food ( biryani, etc ). In foreign countries Indians and Pakistanis mix and socialize as if Partition has never taken place.

Pakistan was created on the basis of the bogus two nation theory, that Hindus and Muslims are two separate nations. If religion is the basis of a nation, then hardly any nation in the world could survive. Britain will have to be partitioned into about 10 'nations', Anglican, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic,Jewish, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, etc. So also U.S.A. Russia, France, Germany, etc. Almost all countries have people of different religions.

So what will talks between India and Pakistan achieve ? If there really are good relations between India and Pakistan, then the very purpose of creating Pakistan will cease to exist.

As for talks with separatist leaders, they will only keep chanting ' azadi '.
So what is the solution ?

The solution is reunification of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh under a strong, secular government which does not tolerate religious extremism of any kind and crushes it with an iron hand This reunification, though bound to happen, will probably take a long time, because those who have divided us will not let us easily reunite, and we have to wage a long, arduous struggle to attain this objective. This reunification will automatically solve the Kashmir problem too, but till then the problem will continue.

Some people say that India and Pakistan were divided a long time back and much water has flown since then, and now it is not possible to reunite. They forget that Germany was reunited in 1990 after 45 years of separation, and China has not yet recognized Taiwan.

Many people say that this idea of reuniting is only a dream. But when Mazzini spoke of unification of Italy he was called a dreamer, and yet his dream came true under Cavour and Garibaldi.
Still others say that we cannot reunite because there is great deal of hatred between the people of the two countries.In fact this hatred was artificially created by the British divide and rule policy ( see my article ' The Truth about Pakistan ' ), and with re-education can be eliminated. People of both countries want decent lives, and want to get rid of poverty.

The worst thing in life is poverty, and the test of every system is one and only one : does it raise the standard of living of the people ? 

. India must reunite because the only way to abolish poverty, unemployment and our other socio-economic ills is rapid industrialization, for only with a huge industry will we able to generate the wealth required for the welfare of our people. But for such a huge industry we must have a huge market, because the goods produced have to be sold. Therefore far from dividing India we must reunite if we are to escape from poverty and other social ills. The demand for azadi for Kashmir or any other part of India totally overlooks this, and is reactionary.

We already have thousands of competent engineers, managers, technicians, scientists, etc in our country. Once we reunite we will also have tremendous natural resources and a huge market for a powerful, widespread industry, and this huge industry will generate millions of jobs for our unemployed youth. Only then we will be able to escape from poverty, unemployment, malnutrition, lack of healthcare and our other social ills.

