": Watan ki fikr kar naadan, museebat aane waali hai
Teri barbaadiyon ke mashware hain aasmanon mein
Na samjhoge to mit jaoge ai Hindostan waalon

Hari Om

It is reported that in an Income Tax raid at the Sector-51, Noida residence of Yadav Singh, former Engineer-in-Chief, Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway, Rs.10 crore in cash was found in his Audi car (which is said to be worth Rs.90 lakhs), jewellery worth Rs.100 crore in his palatial house, etc.
The Income Tax raid is reported to have unearthed disproportionate assets of his family worth Rs.1,000 Crore. It is alleged that he had 250 plots of land, 40 fake companies in his wife's name, and that he was buying land at throwaway prices and selling them at the prevailing market price, etc.

Attack on a Christian Church

A large part of the prominent St. Sebastian Church, in north east Delhi's Tahirpur area, has been almost completely gutted by a major act of arson apparently caused by some miscreants. The altar, statues, the Holy Bible, the Cross etc have all been reduced to ashes.
Some people would obviously be celebrating at their  'great victory ' .
The Christian community in India is a small, peaceful community of about 3% of the total population of India, but because they are few in number they are fair game.

A Visit to Akshardham

Some elderly relatives of mine wanted to visit the Akshardham temple in Delhi, so I took them there.
Among other things there, there is a cultural boat ride inside a tunnel , and we went on it. Inside this tunnel are scenes from ancient Indian history. Many of these are  truthful, e.g. Sushruta doing  surgery, Aryabhat explaining mathematics to students, Panini teaching grammar, etc. But there was one scene which completely put me off. That was a scene showing an aeroplane allegedly built in ancient India.
Afterwards I went to the head priest of the temple and told him that while the other scenes were truthful and should certainly be shown to people who should know about the great achievements of our ancestors, the scene of an aeroplane in ancient India was false, as there were no aeroplanes in ancient india, and showing such falsehood dilutes the great achievements of our ancestors by mixing truth with falsehood.
Many people, some of whom are even educated people, say that in ancient India we had aeroplanes, atom bombs and guided missiles. In support of this argument they refer to the Ramayan and Mahabharat.
NowIt is true that the Ramayan mentions Pushpak Viman, an alleged flying chariot, on which Lord Ram is said to have brought Sita from Lanka to Ayodhya, after defeating Ravan. On this basis it is claimed that there were aeroplanes in ancient India.
My reply to such people is this :
We must first understand what are Ramayan and Mahabharat ? They are epic poems ( mahakavyas). In poetry there is a thing called 'poetic licence', which gives a poet the right to exaggerate. So one must not take all things in the Ramayan or Mahabharat literally. As in much of poetry, many things are imaginative.
Everyone in the world knows that the first aeroplane in the world ( the Kitty Hawk ) was built by the Wright brothers in 1903. Hence we make ourselves a laughing stock before the whole world by claiming that there were aeroplanes in ancient India.
If there were aeroplanes in ancient India then there must have been engines in ancient India ( because an aeroplane requires an engine). In that case soldiers should have fought in tanks instead of in chariots and horses in the Mahabharat.
Similarly, the claim that there were guided missiles and atom bombs in ancient India,( because there is mention of brahmastra, agnyastra, narayanastra, etc in the Mahabharat and Ramayan ) is also nonsense. These were only poetic imaginations.
Such people who talk such nonsense do not know the real great scientific discoveries of our ancestors, e.g. the decimal system in mathematics, plastic surgery in medicine, etc  I have mentioned about some of them in my articles ' The Decimal System in Mathematics ', " Panini, ' Nyaya and Vedanta ', and 'Sanskrit as a language of Science' on my blog justicekatju.blogspot.in

Arvind Kejriwal's book ' Swaraj ' is a lot of nonsense..

Kejriwal's basic thesis in this book is that the solution to India's problems is that power, which is presently in the hands of politicians in Delhi and big businessmen, should be transferred to gram sabhas and mohalla sabhas.

Everybody with even a little knowledge of social realities knows that most gram sabhas ( though not all ) are corrupt and casteist bodies, usually dominated by big landlords, kulaks and/or money lenders, either directly, or through their henchmen. So also are mohalla area sabhas ( by whatever name called ). Those who dominate in such bodies usually work for themselves, by getting gram sabha land allotted to their family members or henchmen, or doing other misdeeds, and not for the welfare of the villagers as a whole.

In the Supreme Court I gave a judgment, Jagpal Singh vs. State of Punjab, 2011 ( along with Justice Gyansudha Mishra )  it was mentioned that in many states.almost all of the gram sabha land, which was meant for the common benefit of the villagers for various purposes, has been surreptitiously allotted to, and occupied by the gram sabha pradhans or other office bearers of the gram sabha, or their relatives or henchmen. Quoted below is an extract from that judgment :

" Since time immemorial there have been common lands inhering in the village communities in India, variously called gram sabha land, gram panchayat land, (in many North Indian States), shamlat deh (in Punjab etc.), mandaveli and poramboke land (in South India), Kalam, Maidan, etc., depending on the nature of user. These public utility lands in the villages were for centuries used for the common benefit of the villagers of the village such as ponds for various purposes e.g. for their cattle to drink and bathe, for storing their harvested grain, as grazing ground for the cattle, threshing floor, maidan for playing by children, carnivals, circuses, ramlila, cart stands, water bodies, passages, cremation ground or graveyards, etc. These lands stood vested through local laws in the State, which handed over their management to Gram Sabhas/Gram Panchayats. They were generally treated as inalienable in order that their status as community land be preserved. There were no doubt some exceptions to this rule which permitted the Gram Sabha/Gram Panchayat to lease out some of this land to landless labourers and members of the scheduled castes/tribes, but this was only to be done in exceptional cases.

4. The protection of commons rights of the villagers were so zealously protected that some legislation expressly mentioned that even the vesting of the property with the State did not mean that the common rights of villagers were lost by such vesting. Thus, in Chigurupati Venkata Subbayya vs. Paladuge Anjayya, 1972(1) SCC 521 (529) this Court observed :

"It is true that the suit lands in view of Section 3 of the Estates Abolition Act did vest in the Government. That by itself does not mean that the rights of the community over it were taken away. Our attention has not been invited to any provision of law under which the rights of the community over those lands can be said to have been taken away. The rights of the community over the suit lands were not created by the landholder. Hence those rights cannot be said to have been abrogated by Section 3) of the Estates Abolition Act."

5. What we have witnessed since Independence, however, is that in large parts of the country this common village land has been grabbed by unscrupulous persons using muscle power, money power or political clout, and in many States now there is not an inch of such land left for the common use of the people of the village, though it may exist on paper. People with power and pelf operating in villages all over India systematically encroached upon communal lands and put them to uses totally inconsistent with its original character, for personal aggrandizement at the cost of the village community. This was done with active connivance of the State authorities and local powerful vested interests and goondas. This appeal is a glaring example of this lamentable state of affairs."

Apart from the above, Mr. Kejriwal does not mention how he intends to solve the massive economic problems facing the country, which is basically because of the massive poverty and consequential lack of purchasing power in the Indian masses ( see my article ' World Economic Recession ' on my blog justicekatju.blogspot.in and on my facbook page ). In fact Mr. Kejriwal has no ideas about this

Great Hindi poet Surdas.

These are lines from the great Hindi poet Surdas.
Udho ( Uddhav ) represent reason, while the gopis of Vrindavan represent emotion.
Udho was a close friend of Lord Krishna, and Lord Krishna was very fond of him.
The gopis of Vrindavan had given their hearts to Lord Krishna. But Udho said to Lord Krishna, who was then in Mathura ( which is 18 kms. from Vrindavan ), that he should tell them to forget him.
At one time, no doubt, the gopis had an infatuation for Krishna. But now they had grown up, and would soon be married, and have families of their own. So they should now get over that infatuation and forget him.
At this, Lord Krishna smiled, and said that he ( Udho ) should himself go as Krishna's messenger, and convey this message to the gopis.
This is the reply the gopis gave to Udho when he met them in Vrindavan.

High Unpredictable Winds and Misfortunes are in the Sky

High Unpredictable Winds and Misfortunes are in the Sky
  ( old Chinese adage )

Very turbulent times are coming in India, as mentioned in my articles ' The Transitional Era in India ' and ' Sequel to the Transitional Era in India ' ( see on my blog justicekatju.blogspot.in ). I have been saying this repeatedly, not to frighten the Indian people ( whom I love ), but to tell you the truth and reality, so that you get prepared for the days to come.
Despite all proclamations,G.D.P. growth of the Indian economy in the quarter July-September, 2014 has dropped to 5.3%, as against 5.7% in the quarter April-June. Manufacturing growth has practically come to a grinding halt. It has dropped to 0.1% in the quarter July-September, as compared to 3.5% in April-June.
The reason is obvious : the Indian masses are too poor and have little purchasing power ( see my article ' The World Economic Recession ' on my facebook page, and on my blog  justicekatju.blogspot.in ). And unless people have purchasing power the goods manufactured cannot be sold. So the solution is to raise the purchasing power of the masses. To find out how this can be done we have to use our creativity and find solutions.
Those who say that the Aam Admi Party, or any other political party in india for that matter, can solve India's economic problems, are either living in a fool's paradise, or are deliberately deceiving the people. These parties have no solution to the massive socio-economic problems India is facing.

Once again on the Aam Admi Party

I have read the large number of comments on my previous facebook post. In that post I said that the Aam Admi Party, like all other political parties in India, and its leader Mr. Kejriwal, have no scientific ideas about how to solve India's massive socio-economic problems.

In many of the comments to that post it was said that Kejriwal is an honest man, and will end corruption. These comments show that while people in this country are mostly good, they are also mostly emotional and not rational. Of course corruption is a huge problem in India, and I have always fought against it, but how and when can it be ended ?

In this connection I will request people to carefully read my article ' India in Transition and Corrupt ' on my blog justicekatju.blogspot.in. In that article I have explained that corruption is a normal feature of a transition era through which India is presently passing, and will only end, or be considerably reduced, when the transition is over, that is, in about 15-20 years from now. So all this glib talk of ending corruption soon is creating illusions.

Moreover, Mr. Kejriwal, like other political leaders, has to think of winning elections. So I doubt that he will really attack feudal and backward ideas and practices, which are the main evils in India today obstructing our progress, if it means losing votes.

So let me put this to a test.

I call upon Mr. Kejriwal to condemn oral talaq in Muslim Personal Law, which keeps a damocles sword hanging over every Muslim woman, and is therefore totally unjust, discriminatory against Muslim women, and a remnant of feudal practices which has no place in the modern world ( see in this connection my article ' Abolish the Unjust Muslim Personal Law ' on my blog ). I doubt Mr. Kejriwal will do that for fear of losing Muslim votes.

Let him also condemn the totally stupid and false view that in ancient India there were aeroplanes, atom bombs, guided missiles, etc. I doubt he will do that for fear of losing Hindu votes.

So I doubt that he will say or do anything which is required in the national interest if it means losing votes.

The Aam Aadmi Party

In some of the comments on my facebook posts some people have suggested that I join the Aam Admi party.

I replied that in my opinion the Aam Admi Party and its leader, Mr. Kejriwal, have no scientific ideas for solving the massive socio- economic problems facing the country---massive poverty, unemployment, price rise, malnutrition, social discrimination, lack of healthcare, good education, etc

I have no doubt that Mr. Kejriwal is an honest man. but being honest is not enough. One must also have scientific ideas for solving the gigantic problems before the nation, and I am afraid i do not find any in him.

For that matter, I find none of the present political leaders of any political party in India having scientific ideas.

Therefore it is a dismal picture for the country.

As the old Chinese adage says :
" High unpredictable winds, and misfortunes are in the sky "
