The Population problem
Many people say that the main problem of India is its over population. But this is a bogey. England and Holland have greater density of population than India
England has 419 people per sq.km while Holland has 408

India has 382 people per sq.km.

A country's population is relative to its level of economic development.
Before China had its revolution in 1949 many people said it was over populated. But when rapid industrialization started after 1949 it was found that there was a labour shortage.
And when the standard of living of people rise, that automatically checks the population growth. Middle class people in India ( and elsewhere ) now have only one or two children because a lot of time and money has to be spent on each child. On the other hand, poor people spend little money and time on their children, who start earning money at a very young age
So the only way to check population increase is to raise the standard of living of the people, not forcible nasbandi, as Sanjay Gandhi tried
