Whistler, Canada 16.5.2015 ( Saturday ), 7 a.m.

Arrived her with some relatives last evening after a drive from Vancouver for about one and a quarter hour. The scenery all along the drive was a real feast for the eye. It is said to be one of the most beautiful drives in the world, with the blue sea on the left ( containing green islands ), and green hills with poplar, pine, spruce, cedar trees etc on the right. Many small streams flow below the path, and there are waterfalls on the way.

Whistler is on an altitude of about 5000 feet. It is like a hill station in India. Outside my room  i can see lovely green hills, and some snow capped peaks. In winter, of course, everything would be snow covered.

We went for dinner to a complex of buildings where the Winter Olympics were held in 2010. This place is now used for shows. The Olympic sign of 5 rings is still there on a stone. We went to a restaurant where chicken was being roasted on log fires. I had a Margarita to drink. It is made of Tequila ( a Mexican drink ) and triple sec (orange liquer ), in the proportion 2:1. Then I had delicious grilled salmon.

There were many young boys and girls in the complex. Maybe, since it was Friday evening, they had come from Vancouver ( 120 kms.away ) for the weekend.

Many of the girls were wearing scanty clothing, some bare backed, despite the cold weather ( I had my pullover on ). Some young ladies insist on being noticed, even at the risk of catching a chill !
